Elopement Planning
When couples reach out to me about wanting to plan an elopement it is common for them to be unsure about which location they want for their wedding. However, this was not the case for Chasity and Justin. When they reached out to me, they already knew exactly what they wanted, and that was a combined elopement and honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.
By combining their honeymoon with their destination elopement they were able to get a full experience for their wedding instead of just a one-day celebration.
Elopement Experience
Their celebration started a few days before the wedding when they arrived in Maui. They stayed at the Andaz Resort which had multiple pools, a beautiful lawn, and access to the gorgeous Maui beaches. This resort has everything you could want for a wonderful honeymoon and wedding experience.
It was important to Chasity and Justin that they incorporated something they both love into their elopement experience – they chose hunting as their activity! They spent the few days before the wedding enjoying their honeymoon, which included a successful hunt for a speckled deer that can only be found in Maui!
Pre-Ceremony
On their wedding day, I met up with Chasity and Justin at the Andaz Resort. Chasity had a hair and makeup artist on location who did such an amazing job! She was truly glowing for her big day!
After the first look, we loaded up their Jeep and headed to the rainforest. We chose this location to capture the tropical, Hawaiian scenery. It was also a welcomed break since it provided shade from the 98 degree heat. We were able to capture gorgeous photos before the ceremony and keep everyone’s hair and makeup intact!
After spending some time in the rainforest, we headed back to the resort to freshen up for the ceremony. Along the way, we made a few stops capturing the Hawaiaan coast and cliffs.
Ceremony
While the couple cooled off in their room, my second shooter and I set up a picnic for them to enjoy before the ceremony. After cooling off, Chasity and Justin enjoyed champagne, a charcuterie board, and their favorite snacks while they relaxed together before the ceremony.
The ceremony was held by a local Hawaiian officiant, who kicked off the wedding by blowing into a conch shell. I loved that the couple incorporated some local traditions like this into their big day! During the ceremony the couple was married overlooking the water and mountains right before sunset, as their family and friends tuned in via livestream.
One specifically special part of their ceremony was the groom’s ring. It belonged to his father who passed away when he was younger. It was so intimate and special that he could incorporate a passed family member into their wedding commitment.
Post Ceremony
After the ceremony, we headed to the beach to take in every last bit of light from the sunset and celebrated a wonderful day!
We headed home and the couple enjoyed a private dinner just the two of them at the resort. The entire experience was relaxing, intimate, and breathtaking as we took part in all of the scenery Hawaii has to offer.
