The most romantic fall wedding at The Wilds wedding venue in Bloomington, Indiana. The Wilds wedding venue has a beautiful getting-ready spaces for the wedding party, a great indoor reception area, covered outdoor area, and a patio for cocktail hour.
Shannan reached out to me when they got engaged and it instantly felt like we had been my best friends forever! We did an engagement shoot in Georgia and then I got to fly out to Indiana later that year to shoot their wedding. Throughout the wedding planning process we texted, Face-timed, and instantly became besties. I always love when clients turn into friends! Now, let’s get into the details from their wedding!
Getting Ready
Shannan and Alex decided not to do a first look before the ceremony, and decided to read letters that they wrote to each other back to back. As a wedding gift, Shannan actually surprised Alex with a professionally recorded song that she wrote for him. She played the song in the background while he was opening his gift-it was such a beautiful moment!
After the exchanging letters with Alex, Shannan did a first look with her moms which was an emotional and special moment. P.S. there wasn’t a dry eye in the room 🥹
Her bridesmaids wore long, elegant black dresses and the gorgeous florals complimented them so well!
Ceremony & Portraits
They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony under a gazebo. After the ceremony we were able to take some photos out in a stunning field on the property.
Reception
They said the most important thing to them on their wedding day was to be with all their closest friends and family and have a good time. Let’s just say they did just that! It was so awesome seeing everyone come together for Shannon and Alex! This wedding and reception so fun to be a part of. The speeches had people laughing and crying, and there were people on the dance floor the whole time!
Their cake was also such a fun reception detail – it was black and white marble-looking with some gorgeous florals all around it.
Shannan and Alex said that the most exciting thing about marriage was being able to do life together and start a family! The happily married couple is now currently expecting a baby so stay tuned for some maternity photos in the future 😉!
