This intimate Colorado wedding was so sweet to be part of, especially since the bride is one of my best friends! Keep reading for all the details of Sydney and Colby’s Colorado destination wedding.
I met Sydney when she and Colby first started dating and we’ve been best friends through the whole process. She was at USC getting her Ph.D as well, so she and Colby were in a long distance relationship for a while.
They got engaged during covid and had heard me talk about smaller, non-traditional weddings throughout our friendship. Sydney and Colby knew that an intimate destination wedding was exactly what they wanted.
The couple absolutely LOVES Colorado and the mountains, so they decided on the Maroon Bells Amphitheater as their destination. This is a perfect location for couples looking for a destination mountain wedding for a small group of 50 or less people at a relatively low cost.
Sydney and Colby got their reservations at the amphitheater and planned the rest of their wedding around that.
The couple and the majority of their friends got to Aspen 3-4 days before the wedding. They stayed in condos, went on hikes, ate at local restaurants and explored the area.
They held a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding with all of their guests. Afterwards everyone got in the hot tub and relaxed for the evening.
The wedding party got ready in their condos the morning of the wedding and then headed to the amphitheater for the ceremony.
They had a sweet ceremony officiated by a family friend and exchanged sentimental vows that brought everyone to tears! Their first look was when Colby saw Sydney walking down the aisle and it had everyone in tears!
After the ceremony and a champagne toast, guests were free to explore! The couple and I stayed after for sunset photos around Maroon Bells. It was cloudier than usual but still so beautiful!
The day was so heart-felt and a perfect testament to their beautiful relationship.
