I had the amazing opportunity to go to Iceland for a Tyler Rye expedition in November and got to help capture Marie and Gavin’s beautiful elopement!
We started off the day with the couple’s intimate ceremony at a private waterfall. We had originally planned to use another waterfall, but when we saw that it was pretty busy with tourists, the local officiant was able to find another waterfall at a private residence we could use.
After the ceremony we drove around and took photos in a few more locations. We ended the day at the black sand beach. The black sand beach is stunning with black sand, rocks, and basalt column formations. We captured some beautiful photos, watched the sunset, and enjoyed the end of the day.
The trip was really cold but also really beautiful! Marie and Gavin got to experience not just one, but three different breathtaking Icelandic landscapes on their wedding day.
To top everything off, the couple got to see the Northern lights the night before the ceremony. They truly had the full Iceland experience for their elopement!
